One of life’s most reassuring aspects is to know there’s a welcoming space just around the corner. A couple living in Central Oregon bought a condo nestled in the Portland West Hills to give them a place of their own closer to their children — a place to set down their things, breathe deeply, settle in, and sleep in their own bed. The space was very outdated and lacked sufficient storage and efficient flow. They requested spaces that felt calm and soothing to provide respite when they come to town. Given the small square footage, we designed custom cabinetry to accommodate their storage needs, selected panel-ready appliances to keep the materiality consistent, color drenched in both the kitchen and bathroom in alignment with the tile color, and accented with warm brass hardware and fixtures.
